Placemats for Meals on Wheels

Let's help brighten up the holidays for the shut-ins who receive Meals on Wheels by making winter and Christmas themed placemats to be delivered with their Christmas dinner.  Making placemats is a great way to use up scraps and they are the perfect size for practicing free motion quilting skills too!  (If you aren't sure about free motion quilting check out the workshop that is coming up on October 12th.)  This is a win win project for everyone.  There will even be an extra win after all the placemats have been collected, so make sure you enter your name in the drawing for each placemat you donate.

Placemats should be made with holiday or winter theme fabrics and be standard placemat size (14" x 18" give or take an inch) with a single layer of batting inside.

Need some pattern ideas?  Check out these tutorials...

Placemats will be collected at the October, November, and December meetings.  Questions?  Contact Susan McC. (contact info can be found on the guild roster or newsletters), or just leave a comment on this blog post.
