Open Sewing at the Gmeiner -- Monday, August 1st

Next Open Sewing Session
 Monday,  August 1st at the Gmeiner 10:00 - 2:00

All MLQG members of all ability levels and interests are welcome to attend the open sewing sessions at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center (where the monthly guild meetings are held) on Mondays 10:00 - 2:00 to work on any stitching projects, hand or machine, even knitting/crocheting/embroidery. The fourth Monday of the month is reserved for outreach sewing.

The purpose of these get-togethers is to spend time with other MLQG fiber fanatics and to learn from each other, no matter what we're all working on. Bring your projects, machine, and lunch. Stay for an hour or stay all day. Just be warned that if only a couple of people show up, we may pack up early and leave before noon. Cancellations will be posted on the guild's blog/website/Facebook page.

If you need more info contact Susan McC., Anya T., or Peggi Y., or comment on this blog post.

Annual Picnic!
6:00 pm - Ives Run Picnic Pavilion - July 18th
Bring family or friends; a dish to pass; plates & silverware; Show and Tell.
If it rains, the picnic will be cancelled, so keep an eye on e-mail, the blog, or Facebook for postings.

Registrations for the September 2016 exhibit are due!  The deadline is July 31st, so don't forget to bring them to the picnic or mail/e-mail them to Peggi Yacovissi.  Let's make this year's exhibit another stellar show!

Quilts for Cancer - Dreams
A small 9" x 12" quilt, to be sold for $25 - proceeds will be sent to the American Cancer Society.  These quilts must be ready for Susan McConnell by the August 15th meeting.  The form is different from the exhibit form.  You can download the form from the blog.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Susan.  The more quilts we have, the more we can donate to this cause.
