Stone Soup Quilts

The guild's Stone Soup Quilts outreach projects is in full swing and guild members are having a great time working on these quilts! Several quilts have been completed thanks to Greta Marie T., Dawn P, Joyce W., and Peggi Y.! Other quilts are in various stages of completion, and some are waiting to be started. Don't miss out on the fun; guild members of all skill levels can help with the project. Pick up a kit from Susan Mc., or start your own Stone Soup Quilt with an easy throw-size (40ish x 50ish) quilt pattern, add some fabric "stones" from your stash (UFOs or orphan blocks would make good "stones" as well). Work on your quilt start to finish, or bring your work in progress to the next guild meeting for another guild member to work on.

Finished quilts will be distributed wherever there is a need throughout our community, such as CONCERN, nursing homes, Lap Robes for Veterans, etc.

Questions? Find more details by clicking on the Outreach tab at the top of this blog or contact Susan Mc., MLQG Outreach Chairperson (check your guild roster or newsletter for her contact info).

Check out these wonderful Stone Soup quilts that were recently completed by MLQG members!

April 16th Guild Meeting Program -- Sewing Machine Care

There is nothing more frustrating than to have to put your project on pause because your sewing machine must go to the trauma center for care. April's program will feature 911 Power Tool with an informative class on sewing machine care. Sewing machines are expensive and taking care of them between professional visits is important to keep your machine in top working order. This program will focus on generic cleaning and oiling points. It will also include an overview of common causes for problems and how to prevent them. No matter what type of sewing machine you own, you can learn how to take better care of it.

When -- Monday, April 16th, 7:00 PM
Where -- Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center, Wellsboro, PA

All MLQG members and visitors welcome!
