National Speakers

National Speaker for 2026

Our national speaker for this year, Lorry Chwazik of PleasantStreetQuilts.com will be with our guild for a trunk show of her work on Friday evening, May 1, 2026, followed on Saturday May 2 by a 6-hour workshop: “Abracadabra Quilts”. In this workshop we’ll transform giant nine-patches into a finished-edge, three layered, quilted patch that can be joined to others to make a quilt of any size. 

A native of upstate New York, Lorry Chwazik has built a full quilting life. She has been teaching and lecturing since 1994, and a Certified Judge (National Association of Certified Quilt Judges) since 1999. Besides being active in her local guild, she manages PleasantStreetQuilts.com, writes articles for websites and magazines, and creates quilts, patterns and clothing for sale. Her award-winning work has been included in calendars and magazines, and has been selected as cover art for several music albums.
