MLQG HISTORIAN NEEDED

Do you attend most guild meetings?
Do you take digital photos?
Do you have access to a scanner?
Do you want to help the guild but don’t have much free time?
If you answered, “Yes,” to these questions, contact Susan McC, Nancy C, or Holly M and let us know that you are willing to be the next MLQG Historian for the 2013-14 year.

Duties of the Historian
• Capture the essence of guild experiences and maintain the related
material in an archive. Some of the archive can be a physical scrap book,
but most should be electronic.
• Collect newspaper articles about the guild and scan them for inclusion in
the archive. Coordinate with the publicity chair person to become aware of
potential clips.
• Collect digital pictures of guild activities and the related people.
− Take digital photos at guild events.
− Gather photos from others that may be useful for historical purposes.
− Make digital photos available to others as requested (e.g., newsletter,
publicity).
• Make sure that past archival material is being maintained.
Ideally the historian should be competent in technologies associated with
archiving material (digital photography, scanning images, burning CDs, uploading
photos, etc.)
