NOTE -- Due to changes in schedules and availability, the Gmeiner Open Sewing sessions on the first Monday of every month are cancelled until further notice. We want to thank all MLQG members who participated with us for the gatherings over the last several years. If the sessions start up again, there will be notices in the guild newsletter, blog, and Facebook page.

All MLQG members of all ability levels and interests are welcome to attend the open sewing sessions at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center (where the monthly guild meetings are held) on the first Monday of each month, 10:00 - 2:00, to work on any stitching projects, hand or machine, even knitting, crocheting, or embroidery.

The purpose of these get-togethers is to spend time with other MLQG fiber fanatics and to learn from each other, no matter what we're all working on. Bring your projects, machine, and lunch. Stay for an hour or stay all day. Just be warned that if only a couple of people show up, we may pack up early and leave before noon. October Open Sewing/Raffle Quilt Work Bee Date Change -- Monday, October 14

The October open sewing session will be combined with a raffle quilt work bee. Guild members are welcome to come help with sewing the final borders onto the quilt and with piecing the backing, or to bring their own stitching projects.

All MLQG members of all ability levels and interests are welcome to attend the open sewing sessions at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center (where the monthly guild meetings are held) on the first Monday of each month, 10:00 - 2:00, to work on any stitching projects, hand or machine, even knitting, crocheting, or embroidery. Open Sewing at the Gmeiner -- Monday, June 3rd -- Raffle Quilt Work Bee

At this month's open sewing session on Monday, May 6th, MLQG members are invited to work on the next stage of the 2020 raffle quilt. The plan is to finish the neutral border blocks, make the final design plans for the applique, and prepare the borders for applique.

All MLQG members are welcome to participate. Bring your sewing machine, rotary cutter/mat, and usual sewing supplies, as well as any ideas or potential patterns for an applique border. You may bring your lunch or get lunch from one of the local restaurants. If you need more info, contact Tess McC. Susan McC. At this month's open sewing, members are welcome to help with making blocks for the guild's 2020 raffle quilt. For more info on that, check the blog post from May 2nd. Of course, members may also bring their own projects to work on during open sewing.

Raffle Quilt Work Bee at April 1st Gmeiner Open Sewing

At this month's open sewing session on Monday, April 1st, MLQG members will be working on the next stage of the 2020 raffle quilt. The plan is to finish needed blocks, quality control and tweak blocks if needed, begin layout, and discuss border options. All MLQG members are welcome to participate.
