MLQG Meeting Minutes
September 16, 2024
President Peggi Yacovissi welcomed the members to the meeting at 7:00 pm. There were no guests and there were 29 members in attendance. Peggi stated that the guild reached a milestone as this is our 12th Quilt Exhibit.
Secretary Report- A motion was made by Mary Higgins to approve the minutes from the July meeting. Dawn Cleveland second and the minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report- Pam Swimely reported a balance in the checking account of $8, 383.51, in the savings account $2,261.28 and the CD $3,022.08. Nancy Dart made a motion to approve the report, seconded by Brenda Goldian motion passed.
Peggi asked about the flood recovery in the Westfield/Knoxville area. Suggestions were given for resources for shoes that are needed for several families.
Retreat News- The Fall Retreat is scheduled for September 23 – 26th at Linck Hill. Peggi suggested members should plan on attending a retreat as it is a lot of fun, productive and educational. She also reminded members that they can visit during the day next week.
Exhibit
• Docents are needed for a few spots during our exhibit a sign- up sheet was passed around.
• Several quilters from the Elmira Piecekeepers will be here next week to judge the quilts.They will select “Best of Show” for each category. The winners will be announced at the October meeting.
• Raffle Quilt drawing will be held October 15th as stated on the tickets. The information will be placed in a sealed envelope till the meeting.
Announcements-
• Peggi will contact officers and committee chairs to find a date for a Board Meeting.
• Vonda Reed reminded members about the Dilemma Quilts, they should be completed and brought to the November meeting.
• The October meeting will be on the 21st at 7:00 pm. The winners of the quilt show and raffle quilt will be revealed.
• The annual Christmas party will be held on December 9, at noon. More information to follow.
• There are several Little Quilts for sale with the proceeds going to This is my Quest.
• Please enjoy the quilt exhibit before you leave.
• Snacks on the table are for everyone help yourself.
